Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
What type of water should I use in the reservoir?
We recommend using distilled or filtered water to prevent mineral buildup inside the steam mechanism over time. Tap water works fine for short-term use, but distilled water will keep the brush performing at its best for longer.
Can I use this on wet hair?
The NattiGlow Steam Brush is designed for dry or lightly damp hair — not soaking wet. If your hair is towel-dried but still slightly damp, that's the ideal starting point. Fully wet hair can reduce the steam's effectiveness and extend your drying time unnecessarily.
Is it safe for colour-treated or chemically processed hair?
Yes. The steam temperature is calibrated to smooth the cuticle without the extreme heat that damages colour-treated or chemically processed strands. Many of our customers with bleached or highlighted hair specifically prefer it over traditional straighteners for this reason.
How long does the steam last on a full reservoir?
A full reservoir provides approximately 20–25 minutes of continuous steam — enough for a full styling session for most hair lengths. Refilling takes less than a minute and you can do it mid-session without waiting for the brush to cool down.
Does it work on thick or curly hair?
Yes. Customers with thick, coarse, or naturally curly hair consistently report strong results, though they typically need to work in smaller sections and make 2–3 passes per section for full smoothing. The flexible bristles are designed to move through dense hair without pulling.
How do I clean and maintain the brush?
After each use, empty any remaining water from the reservoir and leave the brush face-down on a towel to air dry. Once a week, do a quick clean of the bristles with a tail comb to remove shed hair. Every 2–3 weeks, run a cycle with a small amount of distilled water and white vinegar to descale the steam mechanism — this keeps the mist consistent and strong.
